Several different cultural/linguistic traditions feed into the Thekashi synthesis. The first of these is Iltârer, belonging to the original inhabitants of the Thekashi world, who retreated to its extreme northern and southern lands as the "younger races" appeared and became dominant in the central regions. The language described in these pages is that of the northern Iltâr, whose inventiveness continued to give them a prominent role in Thekashi cultural history even after they removed to Hendir and dwindled in relative numbers. Some references are made to the southern language and to the ancestral Proto-Iltârer, but these are always indicated explicitly.
Note: This outline represents the plan for these pages, which are a work in progress. Titles of completed pages are active links, shown in tinted text.
